Privacy Policy

The short version

Your yaps, your brain map, and your settings are stored in your browser's local database on your own phone or computer. We do not have a database of user thoughts. When the app organizes your thoughts, your words pass through our server to an AI provider for a few seconds of processing and come straight back; we do not store or log the content.

What we store on our servers

Today: nothing personal. No accounts exist yet, no yaps, no audio, no analytics profiles. Our server keeps only anonymous operational counters (request counts per network address, for rate limiting) that contain no content. When accounts and subscriptions launch, we will store the minimum needed to run them: your email address, subscription status, and payment records handled by our payment processor (we never see full card numbers). This policy will be updated before that launches.

What happens during AI processing

Tagging and brain-building send your text to Anthropic's API; optional HD voice transcription sends your audio to OpenAI's API. Our server relays the request and the response without storing either. Under both providers' API policies, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default. If you use the browser's built-in voice recognition instead of HD mode, your audio is processed by your browser vendor's speech service under their terms.

Optional information you can add

Onboarding may ask optional questions (such as your birthday or a personality type) to flavor your brain map and enable optional features like horoscope readings. These are always skippable, stored on your device like everything else, and used for nothing beyond the features you see.

Cookies and tracking

YapBrain sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives standard web requests when pages load.

Your data, your controls

Export everything anytime (Brain tab, "Download my brain"). Delete individual yaps in the app, or delete everything by clearing the site's browser data. Because we do not hold your content, we cannot access, recover, or hand over what does not exist on our servers.

Children

YapBrain is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
