1. What YapBrain is, and is not
YapBrain is a productivity and journaling tool that helps you capture thoughts by voice or text and organize them into maps, lists, and reflections. YapBrain is not a medical device, therapy, treatment, counseling, or a substitute for professional care of any kind. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage ADHD or any medical or mental-health condition. Suggestions in the app are organizational pointers generated by AI; they can be wrong, and they are not advice.
If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, do not rely on YapBrain. Contact a professional, someone you trust, or a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988).
2. Who can use it
You must be 13 or older to use YapBrain, and 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a subscription. By using YapBrain you confirm this.
3. Your content is yours
Everything you record or type ("yaps") and everything generated from it (your brain map, insights, exports) belongs to you. It is stored on your device, not on our servers (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for backing it up; clearing your browser data deletes it, and we cannot recover it.
4. Subscriptions and billing
The core of YapBrain is free. Premium features are offered as a subscription: $5.99 for the first month, then $9.99 per month afterward. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not offer partial-month refunds. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the new price. Optional fun features (such as horoscope or compatibility readings) are for entertainment only.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use YapBrain to break the law, to harm others, to probe or disrupt the service, or to resell access. Don't attempt to extract or misuse the AI relay endpoints. We may suspend access that abuses the service.
6. AI processing
When YapBrain organizes your thoughts, your words (or audio) are sent to third-party AI providers for processing and are not stored by us. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or oddly phrased. Use your judgment.
7. Third-party tools and trademarks
YapBrain is compatible with other tools but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with any of them. Our export feature produces open, plain-text Markdown files that you can open in Obsidian, AFFiNE, or any Markdown editor; "Obsidian" and any other product names are trademarks of their respective owners, and we reference them only to describe that compatibility. Any payment, hosting, or AI providers we rely on are independent companies governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Fun or novelty features (such as horoscope, compatibility, or personality readings) are provided for entertainment purposes only and are not factual, predictive, or professional advice.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
YapBrain is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to YapBrain is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data. Because your data lives only on your device, you are solely responsible for backing it up, and we cannot recover data that is lost, deleted, or corrupted.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. You may stop using YapBrain at any time. Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app or clearing browser data removes it.
10. Governing law and contact
